Materials & Supplies

  • Yarn: 100% Cotton Worsted or DK (Dishie or Lily Sugar ‘n Cream) in Natural Cream (Main), Buttercup Yellow, and Crisp White

  • Zipper: One 8-inch or 9-inch nylon coil zipper
  • Lining (Optional): Cotton fat quarter fabric for inside lining

Pattern Instructions

1. Daisy Granny Squares (Make 8)

Round 1 (Yellow Center): MR, ch 2 (counts as hdc), 11 hdc into ring. Sl st to join. Fasten off yellow. (12 sts)
Round 2 (White Petals): Join White in any st. Ch 2, 4-dc cluster (bobble) in same st, ch 2. *4-dc cluster in next st, ch 2; repeat around. Fasten off white. (12 petals)
Round 3 (Squaring Off in Cream): Join Cream in any ch-2 space. *[3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in corner space, 3 hdc in next space, 3 hdc in next space; repeat 3 more times for four flat corners. Fasten off. Each square measures 4.25 x 4.25 inches.

2. Assembly & Finishing

Arrange 4 squares in a row for the front panel, and 4 squares for the back panel. Join squares using the flat slip stitch join. Place right sides together and seam bottom and sides. Pin the zipper along the top edge and hand-stitch securely using a backstitch for a seamless finish.
